Day 4: On location at National Archives

What an amazing day we had today and such fantastic opportunities.

We were at the National Archives today and had the best day! After being treat to a delicious breakfast we went with the education team to look at documents that they had kindly got out for us. Ruby was asked to take the first document out of its box. She had to be very careful and was asked what she thought the document was. We were astounded to find out that it was a letter that Elizabeth I had written to Mary Queen of Scots to plead with her not to send her to the tower. Ruby was so lucky to have got the chance to do this. After that we saw other important documents relating to the Cato Street Conspiracy. It was such a great morning. We even saw a rat which had been preserved as it was the reason the National Archives came about. It was eating the documents so they had to make a special place for important artifacts.

Lunch was given to us as well , which was delicious! Then we interviewed. It was amazing to hear all of the interesting facts that the academics knew. We also saw the 1297 Magna Carta!!!
