Day 3: On location at Cato Street and the British Library

Today we were pleased to welcome Penny from the Parliamentary Archives. She told us all about parliament, Peterloo and the Six Acts. It was very interesting and we were able to interview her for our film.

Next, we hopped on a mini bus which took us to Cato Street- the scene of the conspiracy! Gary dress up as John Harrison and told his story. It was so much fun and some of the residents of Cato Street came out to watch! We all filmed ourselves saying whether we thought the conspirators we hero’s or villains!

Back on the mini bus, we travelled to the British Library. It was amazing as we had the chance to look at books and documents from the time of Peterloo. It was fascinating and we know how lucky we are to see these wonderful things from their collection. Everyone there was so helpful and we were able to do an interview about Peterloo and the collection items we were shown.

We were really pleased to also get the chance to see the magna carta. It was brilliant to see so many interesting things in one day and learn so much!
