Day 5: on location- Westminster Abbey

It was an early start today but worth it. We were so lucky to have the opportunity to film in the Abbey and haveĀ  it all to ourselves. We arrived at the education centre where Tom and Rob had set up their activities- animation and VR respectively.

In our film groups we were then taken to the Abbey where we filmed our experts. It was amazing . We also were given a tour by Pernille who knew so many amazing and interesting facts and stories. We saw the tombs of kings and queens, visited poets corner and learned about rebels and radicals!

In the education centre Tom showed us how to do the animations. We worked the plasticine figures and camera to create our aminated frames.

Rob had created programs for the VR headsets so we could virtually walk through the Cato Street house and Harrowby’s house in Grosvenor Square. This was unbelievable! It was a fantastic experience.

After lunch we went to the Household Cavalry museum. After our interviews Peter and Alice, Alice showed us into the stables and answered questions about the horses. This was a brilliant opportunity for us. We were able to try on the costumes in the museum and have a walk around the exhibits.

Before heading off for a pizza we watched the changing of the guards and were introduced to the resident artist.

We have had another great day!
