Naive coded messages

The conspirators even invented naive secret codes like this one, from the National Archives  This was a proposed speech by James Watson, Thistlewood’s kindred Spencean revolutionary, that would have been read out one a new provisional government had been declared following the removal of the cabinet. Thistlewood was even referred as “T!”  It’s as if he led a supper sophisticated James Bond type plot.  However, when you see the tameness of their secret password: BUT-TON you an see this was more “Allo Allo” than 007.
