This is the house at 44 Grosvenor Square where the fictitious cabinet was due to take place. It was demolished in 1874. Of all the member so fo the cabinet that seemed to engender most hatred it was Castlereagh and Sidmouth. Shelley wasn’t the only one blackening their name. You can see what Cruikshank should happen to them after Peterloo in this print. Both would have been dispatched with a 1796 heavy cavalry sword courtesy of the household Cavalry conspirators, Robert Adams (a former Blue) and John Harrison (a former Life Guard). Once their work was done James Ings was keen to bag up their heads and then parade them on pikes through the revolutionary streets of London.
